Virginia Harrop

Virginia trained in central London and qualified as a solicitor in 1980. In 1991 she set up the original private practice of Harrops with her husband, Peter, in Oxted.
Virginia is a Consultant Solicitor at Harrops & Hepburn and she maintains a varied and loyal client base.
Virginia has particular experience in relation to drafting Wills, dealing with related trust matters, handling the administration of estates of any size, putting together Powers of Attorney, dealing with Advance Directives and assisting families with deputyship applications

Peter Harrop

Peter trained in London and qualified as a solicitor in 1977. He worked in London until 1991 when he set up the original private practice of Harrops with his wife, Virginia, in Oxted. Peter is a Consultant Solicitor at Harrops & Hepburn and he maintains a large and varied client list.
Peter has a breadth of experience in property matters and now specialises in high-end residential conveyancing and development work. His current work has a particular emphasis on flat developments in London and commercial freehold and leasehold conveyancing.

Lawyers

Amanda Andrews

Amanda is a Senior Chartered Legal Executive in the Commercial Property Department.
Amanda deals with commercial transactions including business acquisitions, disposals, leasehold transactions, and secured lending. She also works with property developers and investors on site acquisitions, disposals, funding arrangements and other complex transactions.

Amanda also acts on behalf of private individuals offering advice on a variety of matters including equity release mortgages, re-mortgages, adverse possession claims, lease extensions and much more.
Amanda is a very experienced commercial lawyer and worked in Central London until 2008. Her past experience includes having acted for the governing body in the game of tennis for Great Britain on a large number of loans and grants particularly those secured by legal charge, and representing large corporations and private landlords on business lease renewals.

Karl Howsam

Karl is an associate in the commercial property team in our Oxted office.

Karl has worked as a property lawyer for over 12 years dealing with non -contentious property matters including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals (commercial and some residential), acting for landlords and tenants on the granting and taking of business leases, licences for assignment, subletting /alterations, option agreements, overage , financial arrangements, adverse possession and other commercial property matters.

Interests

Karl is a lifelong supporter and season-ticket holder at West Ham, enjoys cycling and spending time with his family.

Faye Pierce

Faye trained and worked in Central London at Trowers & Hamlins and qualified as a Solicitor in 1982. She has dealt with commercial property work, conveyancing and private client work. She joined Harrops & Hepburn in February 2015 dealing with Administration of Estates, Wills and related Trusts and Powers of Attorney.

Daniel Pike

Daniel has practised for over 17 years and has acted for a wide range of clients in a number of locations throughout Surrey, Kent and Sussex. Having trained in residential and commercial conveyancing at a small high street practice he has since worked for several large regional firms. He joined the Oxted branch of the Morrisons Group in August 2018 specialising in residential property transactions.

Moving house can be a stressful experience and with his extensive knowledge and experience Daniel is able to reassure clients and guide them through the legal process, while providing clear, personalised advice.

Away from the office Daniel has a wide range of interests and enjoys playing football, reading, gardening and playing guitar. He has lived in East Grinstead for 16 years and is married with one son.

Vanessa Pope

Vanessa trained with Maples & Calder in the Cayman Islands and an Essex Firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2000. She then did private client work for a large Oxford firm and later became a partner at a medium sized Bedford and Northamptonshire practice. She relocated to Ghana in 2009 and worked as a corporate lawyer for Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah and set up a private law firm before returning to the UK to join Harrops & Hepburn in 2015.

She has over ten years private client experience in all aspects of Will drafting, estate and trust administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications. She understands the importance of putting clients at ease and offers structured and straightforward advice at what is often a difficult time for clients.

Interests

In her spare time, she enjoys choral work, is an accomplished pianist and violinist and enjoys outdoor activities.
